Royal Palace: A Timeless Blend of Classic and Contemporary

Reviving the Past with a Modern Twist

The Royal Palace stands as a testament to the timeless beauty of French-style decor from the 17th and 18th centuries. This design exudes elegance and comfort, incorporating the main elements of function and shape to create a harmonious space. Careful consideration was given to the selection of furniture, lighting, and decoration, all meticulously chosen to complement the overall design.

Utilizing the latest technology, B5 Design brought their vision to life. The design process began with sketches and drawings using AutoCAD, followed by the creation of mood boards in Adobe Photoshop to determine the desired colors, materials, lighting, and furniture. Finally, the team utilized Autodesk 3ds Max for 3D modeling, allowing them to visualize the space in its entirety.

The Royal Palace boasts several unique features that set it apart from other designs. The walls are coated with G.R.G, adorned with classic decorative molding and heavy texture wallpaper. Cove lights add a touch of sophistication to the walls, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. The flooring showcases a luxurious water jet marble and stone vintage design, featuring customized colors of Italian marble such as Bianco Vento, Light Emprador, and Dark Emprador. The ceiling, made of 12mm thick suspended KNAUF gypsum board, is adorned with G.R.G moldings, adding a final touch of elegance to the space.

Despite the challenges faced during the design process, the team at B5 Design overcame them with creative solutions. Ventilating the space and dealing with the height were among the initial obstacles. However, the team strategically incorporated aesthetically pleasing ventilation exits into the walls, seamlessly blending them into the overall design. Large windows posed another challenge, which was resolved by creating arches in front of each window and adorning them with curtain cove and classical decorations.

The Royal Palace beautifully combines the past and the present, creating a space that exudes grandeur and sophistication. By reviving classical architecture in a contemporary context, B5 Design has not only created a stunning design but also contributed to the acceptance and appreciation of the classical style once again.

The Royal Palace project was completed in December 2020 in Doha, Qatar. Its unique blend of classic and contemporary elements has garnered recognition and acclaim. B5 Design was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2023 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award recognizes designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and technical excellence, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
